Vintage Pine Reading Table

I had a chance to visit the family summer home on Block Island this autumn and saw this old pine table. It's not remarkable except that it is the first piece of furniture I ever built and it was made entirely out of wood laying around my father's wood shop. I was probably about seventeen and, evidently, had some time to kill. The legs are ripped from 2x4's and hand planed down to a taper and the butt joints are all pegged with wood dowels (no metal used). It's finished with several loud coats of polyurethane and stands about 40" at the low end of the slanted top. Perfect height for my niece and daughter to eat salami sandwiches.
